The Pennsylvania State University, a leading public research University, is seeking applications and nominations for the position of Associate Vice President and Senior Associate Dean for Academic Programs for the Commonwealth Campuses/ Penn State's Commonwealth Campuses serve a diverse student population of 30,000 and employ more than 7,500 full and part-time employees, including 2,600 faculty/ The Associate Vice President and Senior Associate Dean reports directly to the Vice President for Commonwealth Campuses and Executive Chancellor (VPEC) and is a senior member of the VPEC's leadership team/ The successful candidate will provide leadership in academic affairs at the 20 geographically distributed Commonwealth campuses/ Primary duties include the development, approval, and review of new academic programs/ This position will also provide leadership for academic market research; statewide continuing education; and academic programs shared among multiple campuses, and inter-institutional articulations/ In addition, this position will oversee college academic authority and related accreditation; academic services and records for associate, baccalaureate and certificate programs; and academic programming offered through inter-campus collaboration, outreach and on-line delivery/ The position will liaise with central University offices, councils, and the Faculty Senate on matters of curricular affairs, and with academic leaders across the Commonwealth campuses/ Candidates must have an earned terminal degree with a minimum of seven years of leadership experience in academic administration; a record of excellence in teaching and research; and a strong commitment to diversity and inclusion, and to quality academic programming leading to student success/ Other essential skills include a broad knowledge of major issues within higher education and a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a complex academic organization/ Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills are also essential/ For additional information, please visit our Web site at campuses/ psu/ edu or send an e-mail to OVPCCsearch@psu/ edu/ Review of applications will begin March 11, 2019 and continue until the position is filled/ The anticipated start date is July 1, 2019/ Penn State is committed to affirmative action, equal opportunity, and the diversity of its workplace/
