Position Summary
The Director of Continuing Medical Education is responsible for developing and coordinating 10-15 conferences per year for physicians and other health care providers. This includes developing course content, determining speaker, and contracting with facilities; developing office and course budgets; developing and coordinating all marketing and promotional strategies and materials; overseeing the accreditation process; supervising other CME staff; and developing and maintaining vendor database to assist in generating program revenue.
Unit Specific Education/Experience/Skills
Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing a four-year college degree program in Business Administration, Educational Theory and Methodology or a related field; one to three years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in planning and overseeing seminars and conferences or event planning including public relations, organizing and disseminating training materials and information both written and web-based; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Desired Qualifications
10 years of experience in continuing medical education or event planning; good understanding of medical terminology; good understanding of CME planning, needs assessment and accreditation processes; experience in event budgeting; experience with web and other social media.
