The Sr. Hybrid Virtualization Administrator is a thought leader and expert responsible for design, coordination, configuration, and maintenance of virtualized on premise and off premise cloud environments. They providing a full range of IT support services to customers proactively providing solutions and recommendation to improve customer experience and minimize negative user experiences with networks they are in charge of or engage with.
The physical environment includes Audio/visual capabilities including an AV network that connects computer and network end points to two primary Video wall capabilities. This AV network is backed by a customer Network which includes Windows and Linux servers, NAS, SAN, routers, L2 and L3 Switches, Firewall appliance, as well as a strong reliance on TS Cloud infrastructure provided by a service provider, and other it components that must be managed and maintained. We are seeking this resource to provide technical expertise in operating and maintaining this environment between the physical cloud based resources.
The Sr. Hybrid Virtualization Administrator will support the Sr. Systems Admin in managing the cloud components of the customer environment which currently consists of multiple locations, complex connectivity (internet based, private lines, VPN), highly secure environment, internal and external customers. He/she will also have responsibilities to engage directly with mid to senior level customers. As such, he/she must also possess softer client engagement expertise to manage client expectations and communicate complex actions or technologies in terms and terminology accessible to the broadest customer audience.
Of critical importance to the government is monitoring and reporting of costs and usage of the cloud infrastructure to ensure efficient and optimized delivery of services. The Sr. Hybrid Virtualization Administrator will automate and deliver infrastructure as code in the hybrid environment through the usage of scripted start-up and shutdown processes that can repeatedly deliver hardened environment.
A qualified candidate will resolve issues rapidly and responsively to provide delightful service to customers of the environment. This includes supporting account creation, resilient and fault tolerant architecture implementation. He/she will manage environment to environment network routing, Service request submissions to the enterprise communications service provider that clearly articulate customer requirement for changes, additions, and removals of network connectivity.
The Sr. Hybrid Virtualization Administrator will work in a team environment and collaboration with other System administrators, networking administrators, and security professionals is a necessity. He/she will need to be able to interact and communicate (in writing and verbally) with teammates, stakeholders, product owners, and executives effectively and efficiently.
Finally, identifies recommendations on architectural design and continuous improvement methods, solutions, and provides project leadership and management in order to provide a high level of service to the customers,
Security Clearance Requirement: Active/current TS/SCI with CI Polygraph is required.
10 12 years w/High School Diploma 07-09 years w/associates or technical degree in Computer Science or related discipline 04-06 years w/Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or related discipline Ten years work experience in complex systems design, programming and systems software and support. Identify appropriate use of AWS operational best practices techniques and procedures. Experience working with AWS GovCloud and/or C2S environments. Experience automating tasks in Bash, sh, Python, or another scripting language. Experience with patching servers/virtual machines (Red Hat Satellite and WSUS preferred). Familiarity working in environments with multiple levels of firewalls, routing, and network ACLs. Experience with: JSON/Bash/PYTHON/PowerShell scripts Apache HTTPD Apache Tomcat SQL MongoDB BOTO3 Redis Kickstart NAT and gateway setup Puppet Yum Use of management tools Building RPMs

Compliant with DoD 8570 IAT Level II with at least 14 months prior to renewal (e.g. Security+ or CCNA Security certification) or candidates who can be compliant within 6 months of starting their position.
