Program Assistant

The Center for the Protection of Intellectual Property (CPIP) is dedicated to the scholarly analysis of intellectual property rights and the technological, commercial, and creative innovation they facilitate. CPIP explores how stable and effective property rights in innovation and creativity can foster successful and flourishing individual lives and national economies.

Through a wide array of academic and public policy programming, CPIP brings together scholars, industry leaders, inventors, creators, and policymakers to examine foundational questions and current controversies concerning patents, copyrights, and other intellectual property rights. Ultimately, CPIP seeks to promote a healthy academic discussion, grounded in rigorous scholarship, and a well-informed public policy debate about the importance of intellectual property.


CPIP is looking for a Program Assistant to join our team. Reporting to the Director of Operations, the Program Assistant will support CPIPs programs and administrative operations. The successful candidate will be an integral part of the CPIP team, working closely with the centers staff in a dynamic, rewarding environment.   • Assisting with CPIPs administrative operations, including answering phones, responding to emails and directing inquiries to the correct resources, maintaining databases/files, updating and organizing contacts information and email lists, ordering office supplies, and other projects as assigned.
  • Providing administrative support for CPIPs events and programs, including calendar management, assisting with attendee travel questions/requests, making arrangements with graphic design/printing and AV vendors, and formatting and distributing meeting materials.
  • Supporting CPIP staff with scheduling, communications, and organizational needs, including planning and booking travel arrangements and assisting with expense reimbursement.
  • Required Qualifications:
  • A Bachelors degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • A strong interest in promoting innovation and creativity through CPIPs academic and policy mission
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communications skills
  • Excellent computer skills and willingness to learn new software
  • Highly self-motivated and detail-oriented with an ability to advance projects in a self-directed way
  • Flexibility in responding to new projects and assignments as they arise
