Responsibilities Include:
Under the direction of the Government Information System Security Manager (ISSM) the ISSO's specific responsibilities will include:
Establish and implement security procedures and practices in support of Customer goals and current Department of Defense (DoD) regulations.
Develop and update assessment and authorization documentation (Body of Evidence) for management and continuous monitoring of information systems.
Apply knowledge of Information Systems (IS) and demonstrate understanding of established Information Assurance (IA) requirements; validate security policies and procedures outlined in the System Security Plan (SSP), customer policies, & regulations; and ensure local policies are followed.
Serve as the JBAB Lead/Senior ISSO and work together with the 844th Communications Group (844 CG) Cybersecurity Team on all cybersecurity related activities.
Take corrective actions to resolve problems identified and ensure systems are operated, maintained, and disposed of in accordance with established policies and procedures.
Make decisions and implement corrective actions as required to resolve audit discrepancies.
Author and review IS, security-related documentation and enter into the Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Service (eMASS).
Conduct continuous security reviews and test systems to verify security features/controls are functional and effective. Take corrective actions to resolve identified vulnerabilities.
Provide security engineering review of proposed changes or additions to IS (including hardware, software, or connectivity), and advise the ISSM of the security relevance.
Create and maintain processes and procedures for use by members of the ISSO team.
Provide leadership to the ISSO team in conducting lessons learned activities to improve the overall productivity and efficiency of the ISSO team.
Required Experience, Skills, and Education:
Bachelor's degree in Information Security, Information Systems, or related discipline and 8+ years of direct experience, additional relevant/specialized training and experience may be substituted in lieu of degree.
Current, DoD 8570-compliant certification for IAM Level II (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CASP) prior to start.
Active DoD Secret clearance or higher.
Experience with DoD implementation of the Risk Management Framework (RMF) and governing directives (i.e., NIST, CNSS, etc.).
Proven ability to deliver superior customer service.
Proven ability to work independently - prioritize, schedule, and complete multiple tasks.
Proven ability to work effectively within a team environment.
Extensive knowledge and experience in specialized area of expertise, especially as it relates to the DoD.
Hands-on experience conducting vulnerability assessment and analysis utilizing SCAP, ACAS/NESSUS, and DISA STIGs.
Experience with completing JFHQ-DODIN TASKORDs and IAVMs.
Experience with Command Cyber Readiness Inspections (CCRI) and CCRI scoring formulas.
Strong written communications skills to coordinate issues and concerns with team.
Experience with compiling, tracking, & reporting Command Cyber Readiness Inspection (CCRI) scores
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Expert in evaluating security controls and compliance on a variety of hardware and software systems.
Preferred Experience, Skills, and Education:
Experience with HBSS, Tanium, and MECM.
Clearance Required:
Requires an active Secret clearance with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI.
